Ariel Valéria Barbosa


Ariel was created 24 years ago and is a creative, visual artist and capoerista, who feels most alive when working for liberation alongside other community organizers and periphery communities. O coracão dela yearns with saudade for Bahia, Brasil & her heart is nurtured by all the family she also has in the Baltimore-Washington area of the US, her home.

Ariel earned a B.A. in Sociology and Bible, Religion, & Theology from Eastern Mennonite University (EMU) and she is currently pursuing a Masters in Community Leadership at University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC). She dreams of studying liberation theology for her PhD.
